On Friday we were spared going to class and took a tour around Barcelona. Our first stop was La Pedrera, a very cool looking building by Gaudí.
This is a view of Passeig de Gràcia from the top of La Pedrera.
After that we drove to La Sagrada Familia, another Gaudí masterpiece.
Then we were off to Park Güell (again, Gaudí) to eat our bocadillos and manzanas. We spent a while here. It was very humid and hiking around this park soon gave way to extreme tiredness. It's got a very beautiful view of Barcelona, though.
Next we drove to Montjuïc. We just drove around it, so no pictures from there. They had the olympics in Barcelona in 1992 and the stadium, torch, some of the pools, etc. were built on Montjuïc. I don't know if anyone remembers, but the torch was lit by an arrow an archer shot from super far away. Pretty amazing. Anyways, after that we visited the Fundació Joan Miró and saw a lot of his paintings. Not really my thing, they're way too abstract for me. We weren't allowed in any cameras, so that's that.
